THE FIRST OLD IRON & ANTIQUE CAR SHOW
THE FOUNDERS
The Old Iron & Antique Car Show was started by Lester & Millie McKay, in July of 1997, in Pennfield, New Brunswick, Canada. The main reason they started this show was to try and generate more members for the Passamquaddy Region of the NBAAC.
HIGHLIGHTS OF THE FIRST SHOW
The first show took place in Pennfield, N. B. on July 13th, 1997, with several old Hit & Miss and Flywheel Engines running. Fifty nine Antique Cars were registered along with a '47 Farmall tractor and '47 Grain Combine, both were in excellent running order. A 1942 Harley Davidson, model 45, military pattern, was also on display.
Several cars came from Machias, Woodland and Calais Maine, and from Nova Scotia. A fellow from Vancouver B. C. on holidays, touring the Maritimes, stopped in and spent the day with his '68 El Camino, There were several vendors set up with tables full of antique car parts & license plates for sale. This whole event was free to everyone. The only money generated was from the sale of hamburgers, pop and coffee for $2.50 and you got a free ticket on one of two Gasoline lots, each valued at $50.00, which was won by Jack Gray and Mona Swanson of Pennfield. There were 20 other small gifts won by various people throughout the crowd.
Each person that registered received a name tag and ribbon of the First Old Iron and Antique Car Show from Lester & Millie. The show was staffed by family, friends and other Volunteers and was a hugh success.

It is with great pleasure that we bring this site to you. Wayne and myself had a great time, searching and gathering the history from the previous shows that were done, especially those of Lester & Millie's. We sincerely hope that you enjoy this site.
